I’ve never heard of Maniwaya Islands until a friend invited me to join their weekend foray into this spot in Marinduque. As someone who doesn’t feel really comfortable traveling with total strangers, it was a complete surprise that I found myself saying ‘yes.’
I guess it was fate because the moment our small boat came near Maniwaya on that sunny Saturday morning, I fell in love.
For a change, I would only be posting these photos because I believe that they can speak for the beauty of the islands. It’s true that a picture paints a thousand words, so here are some of the beautiful images of Maniwaya Islands that have seared my memory forever.
What I loved the most about my short visit here is that it’s not crowded. It’s probably because it’s June and not too many people are hitting the beach. Either way, it’s still an experience I would love to do again because the beauty of the place is so captivating. The locals are really nice and there’s an air of calm that surrounds the island, something we urban dwellers can use from time to time.
